I loved going out to feed the cattle when I was younger. I would hop in my grandfather's F-150 and we'd go and ride around his 115 acre property. I would help them pick blackberries, shuck corn, plant flowers, and buy feed. I loved these small tasks as a child. The farm was a huge playground for me.
I did something shocking. Yesterday, I chased cattle and put them back in the pasture with a 72 year old lady (my grandmother). I had went out to the farm to take care of my grandfather. He had a lobe of his lung removed a week ago. The doctors removed all the cancer with ease. My grandfather said he couldn't ask for much better since he'd been smoking 63 years. I realized in the time I spent out there the importance of embracing a day. I spent a day sitting and cooking, and I felt like I accomplished more in that day than I had in years. I gave them joy with time.
There are times we get so caught up in all the "stuff" we are doing that...the sentiment and simpleness is lost. I sat on the porch and swang on the bench swing for an hour listening to my grandparents and Great Aunt Nina talk about life and the progression of it. It was reaffirming to hear that they, also, knew not where life would take them in the next year. They did know however that it was a gift to still be here....

up up and away
I know the reality of getting out could possibly fall through, but there are many options on the table. I applied for a teaching position in South Korea this week. I also put in ap
plications for Counseling professions and grad school. Today I sent my resume off to Cookeville, TN. This is somewhat frustrating. I have no idea where I am going. lol. I guess it's better than sitting here doing nothing. Anticipation kills ambition at times. I'm hoping that this does not occur and something follows through. In the mean time I will continue to drop cake on people at work. haha. Last night I somehow seemed to do this to a woman. I work at a fine dining restaurant, and it wasn't actually my table. It's good to see my degree going towards my work :). Anyways, I'm out!

Eat.Pray.Love. ... Not the Movie
Tonight Penny, Kaitlyn, and I decided to see the new movie based off the book Eat. Pray. Love. I have read the book and fully enjoyed it. I love popcorn and coke from the movie theatre. It was all I could think about. I was pumped to say the least...
This is where the story gets interesting. Exit 20, we pull off, we are 200 yards from the movies and the car dies. Needless to say we spent the next hour waiting on AAA to get there. Then What happens? The car starts when AAA gets there. Penny saw no need in actually having her car towed. Our friend Butler saw my tweet and came to rescue us, and laughed at how girlie we were.
We finally get the car going, and we get to exit 27 (Paul Huff Pkwy)....the car dies again. We have the tower laughing, and Butler shows up again. Ultimately her 04' Altima is on the tower now, and we are safe at home.
The one thing I realized from this experience is....the fun we had waiting. So many times we look at how quickly we can get from point A to point B. Tonight we soaked it in. We had our own adventure. I do now know the last time I have laughed that hard at a situation. In the hardest times it's so easy to be down, but laughter (for me) has became my release. JUST LAUGH> ... it makes everything so much easier.
I don't know if I will see this movie within the next week, but I do know I will never forget this random night. I believe we are put in situations many times to see the process and not the outcome.
Zzzzz out

Graduation 2.0
I could write the same sentences that every post-grad writes. I won't subject you all to that. I know deep inside me there is a revelry at the fact that I am done, and a twinge of doubt as to what I will do. So, until I make my final decision....I am subjecting you all to my thoughts. Hopefully, this will serve as a comedy and hope for others after me that face what I like to call "claustrophobic cleveland."
....So, needless to say, I'm giving it 30 days......If I find nothing, you will know. This is my experiment, and I hope you all enjoy the heartbreak, humor, and humility that may come with our adventure.
